Today is my Knitting Marathon day. I have six rows of seed stitch to finish up on the Big Bad Baby Blanket and about six ends to weave in. Then I have to put the rest of the seed-stitch trim (it's only 3 rows so whatever) on the Baby Kimono for Beth. Must be done by tomorrow.

Next after that is finishing my red and brown tote bag - pic of in progress:

I am really loving the Patons Classic Merino.

Then I have to knit my other sock. And THEN I can maybe work on my sweater, which has been on hold since June. Oh, and I promised a friend I'd knit a Bear for her daughter.

Ah, and strangers think I would add knitting for $2 an hour to this too??!! NO!

Tired today, but not bad. I am embarking upon a mission to finish baby stuff for Beth by Friday. Then I will finish my felted buttonhole bag (in lovely red and lovely brown) and THEN knit my second sock.

Geez, I am really tired today. Achy from going to bed at midnight. Also I have a special pillow made by foot levelers that I have to sleep on that does traction on my neck while I sleep (it's very comfy). Anyway, I had it flipped around the wrong way, so a couple nights ago I righted it. My shoulders just ACHE from sleeping differently. I know this seems odd but it's true...so anyway. Sore shoulders. Massage today, and thinking of hitting the coffee pot. She will know - she always does.

Ack.

WOOT!

I just finished my second training run of this week, which is a lowly 1x1 walk/run/walk so I've run for a total of ten minutes AND it wasn't hard until the very last but I did it.

I can run for much longer but in the interests of keeping both the knees God gave me I am trying to go easy and do a training schedule that conditions my bones, joints and muscles over the course of 10 weeks. Two more of these and then I go up to running 2 minutes, walking one minute. I think part of the training is keeping moving over the course of twenty or so minutes, when normally I kick out after about 10. En-dur-ance. Think Lance. I can do it!

WOOT!
New Bunnies Movie! Let's Do the Time Warp Again!
Have finished Sock #1 with the Birthday Yarn. Short-row toe and heel. I feel certain that my next sock will be ever so slightly closer to perfect, but this is darn good for a first sock, I think...or maybe I am being too kind to myself.

New title for blog, in honor of a conversation I had with Kirsten, which went something like this:

Jen: I hate knitting i-cord. How much do I have to knit for this darn bag.
Kirsten: I think it should be as tall as you. Six feet or so.
Jen: Well ok, (fumbles with tape measure) how many inches is that?
Kirsten: 144?
(Look of shock and horror on Jen's face, then laughter as both realize that 144 inches is actually 12 feet, or twice as much.)

Maybe you had to be there - I laughed till I cried, and Kirsten nearly wet her pants. So now my worst knitting nightmare is embodified by the idea of knitting 144 inches of i-cord. The seventh circle of hell, or something.

Must Go Run. Do Not Want To. Have Cramps. It Will Help. Bahhhh.

90 today with a heat index of 94. Let's see if I can make myself puke. (JUST KIDDING.)

But ok, need to go. Saw Wedding Crashers last night, spent a large part of time trying to figure out if Claire's hoodie thing was knitted. Decided probably not. Such a funny movie. Can't believe I laughed at some of it. Just the stupidity of guys...cracks me up.

Anyway, loved it.

It's hot today. Must run.

Note: After running and nearly puking, I came in to read that the heat index at that moment was 103. Stupid Jen!
GO LANCE!!!

Am currently knitting a Dream sock in Lorna's Laces Shepherd Worsted, and the felted tote pattern from Hello Yarn. But...I think I made the handles too deep. Instead of 2 1/2" they are more like 3". I know it will shrink up more lengthwise than in width, but I am wondering if this is going to still make the handles too big to hold. About 1 1/2 - 2" seems about right.

Oh well, if it doesn't work I'm out 2 skeins of Patons Classic Merino. Not a bad setback and it's not taking long to knit up.

My #13 Denise are POINTY and I am learning not to shove the left needle down with my right pointer finger. So it means cramming a bunch of stitches up the left needle, knitting a while, then cramming more. But no big deal. The needles are very nice to work with.

What Kind of Wool are You?

You are Shetland Wool.
You are a traditional sort who can sometimes be a
little on the harsh side. Though you look
delicate you are tough as nails and prone to
intricacies. Despite your acerbic ways you are
widely respected and even revered.

Have been running pretty regularly for two weeks. Have decided that ought to run seriously if going to run at all. So today am starting Runner's World 10-week program. Run 1 minute, walk 2. Etc.

Seems too little, but it will probably kick my BUTT.

The Dyslexic Knitter

Supposed to pick up and knit twisted the edge sts when going from bottom to sides of Booga bag.

Missed that I am supposed to twist. Can't follow simple instructions apparently.

This makes third time have done something like this - first on Bear, I knit his head crooked because I couldn't grasp how to do the increases, then on baby sweater, I slipped first st purlwise instead of knitwise until I was about halfway done.

How do I make this madness stop???

Here

I finished the baby sweater - the knitting part - but have to sew up the sleeves and fix up the ribbon.

This weekend I bought two skeins of Noro Kureyon to make a bag. Used the Booga bag pattern but it will be shorter and I worked in three kfb increases - at 3 rows, 6 rows and about 12 rows. Kirsten made a bag like this and I really like it. The colourway I bought is brown-gray-black-reddish brown with a little blue and a smidge of pink. Will be really lovely! Am going to felt it.
