28 degrees today!

And my posts are still disappearing. I am thinking of switching the blog over to Pretty Posies, or maybe TypePad. Because this is insanely stupid.

I finished the armwarmers last night and they are so warm - they were perfect for driving to work today in 28-degree weather. At first I put them on over my gloves and they kept the critical glove-cuff-to-coat-cuff part of my arm very warm. Then for driving I took off the gloves. I was nice and toasty!

I had this whole post about LOST and how it's just not the same show and I'm so disappointed but it just sounded too stupid because after all, it's just TV. I like Friday Night Lights and Six Degrees and Men In Trees and even Numbers better. (And My Name is Earl.) Men In Trees is just yuppie fluff, but I am still going to keep watching because I want Jack to tell Marin "I'm not your friend." She needs to hear it. (The actress who plays Annie is a Knitter.) And about Numbers, I admit to having a crush on agent Colby, which is hilarious because I wouldn't be caught dead liking a guy like him in real life.

Lost, on the other hand, has come unhinged. They just couldn't let it go as it was - they had to start messing with it to try to make it cooler. The show's original premise of how to survive on a tropical island is gone, but I did learn one important lesson - everybody essentially reverted to what they were before the crash, with a few exceptions - Sayid is a soldier, Locke a hunter, Jack a doctor, Sawyer behind bars, etc. What this tells me is that if I am ever marooned on a tropical island it will only be a matter of days before I start drawing big sand pictures and organizing the food storage or decorating the tents or maybe making an announcement for the baby's birth on banana leaves. Because you can't be but what you are, and art directors aren't really very useful on tropical islands.

Anyway, what do y'all watch on TV? Leave me a comment, I love hearing from you!

Ha ha!! So true. I have no idea where this season of Lost is headed. And what is UP with the smoke?? I also watch House (love Hugh Laurie), Desperate Housewives, Ghost Hunters and Grey's Anatomy pretty religiously!

I too feel LOST has completely gone down the crapper, but I keep watching in hopes it will perk up. If this "fall season cliffhanger" sucks then that's the end of LOST for me.

I watch Mythbusters, CSI: Vegas, Survivor, Dr. Who, Stargate(s) SG-1 and Atlantis.

And my guilty pleasure is Desperate Housewives (which was on the verge of crapping out but got better the last two episodes).

I don't watch the news, but usually have HGTV or DIY on if I"m not actively watching. Yes, I watch way too much TeeVee :) I cannot live without my DVR and Internet, I admit it.

This is going to be one of those things that looks worse when I write them all down: Friday Nght Lights, Boston Legal, CSI (original recipe and NY - hate David Caruso), Law & Order (I, II and III), Six Degrees (love Campbell Scott), The Nine (like Six Degrees - soon to be cancelled), Desp House, House, Bones, Numbers, Grey's Anatomy, Ugly Betty and probably a couple more that I can't think of. See - I knew it would be worse once I wrote them all down. Off to watch CNN :-)

I can't add anything to the tv conversation since I stopped watching tv (for the most part) last summer BUT I can vouch for Typepad and I ab-so-lute-ly LOVE it.

We're missing you at the shop, jen! Come visit.a

Also, how'd you like the Vintage 2006 alpaca? I've been thinking about that yarn a lot lately as I've had a skein on my coffee table for a while. Let me know what you think of it.

I'm a bit disappointed with Lost so far this season too - primarily with the writing. I think the big picture is still getting more and more interesting, but the dialogue is lacking.

Veronica Mars! Veronica Mars!

I'm so confused and dissappointed with Lost. My husband keeps telling me that's because I'm knitting while watching. I keep telling him that he is responsible for telling me when to look up from the knitting to see important plot developments.

I started losing interest in Lost last season...it has turned into something that does not want to end. I like to watch, Grey's Anatomy, House, ER, Men in Trees and occasionally Brothers and Sisters (Calista Flockhart)

I have to actually say that I don't watch TV. And by that I mean any. Our television doesn't get any reception (by choice) and so we get our electronic entertainment via Netflix (maybe once a month)some Sirius radio content, and LibriVox.

I had a student the other day (when I told him this) actually GASP out loud and say to me in amazement "what do you do?????" - and I couldn't help but laugh and laugh and laugh it was just too cute.....

What I watch.. hmmmm... when I think of it (and my son does generally remind me) we watch Criminal Minds,
CSI (the original, mostly; sometimes NY; never Miami),
Numbers,
Monk,
Law & Order - SVU and CI;
Jeopardy,
Wheel of Fortune,
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition,
Cold Case,
Without a Trace

Most of the time, I'd prefer there to be no TV and when my teens or my mother are watching, watching, watching, I retreat to my room and either play on the computer or knit - in silence!

I pretty much decided I was done with Lost, esp after this week's episode. Not even Sayid's hotness can keep me going.

I watch Veronica Mars, House, CSI, Amazing Race...and probably some other embarrassing things.

Love your blog by the way. First comment here :)

this is (I think) my first visit here and I gotta tell you, if you don't want the rooster-shaped maple syrup dispenser, I would love to have it...I collect roosters (mostly hand-carved or pottery). As for Lost, I totally agree. With West Wing but a memory, my fav is currently Amazing Race (and I usually loathe "reality" shows as they are anything but real). Arm warmers would be lovely right now...the room where my PC is located is unheated...and if I had any ink in my jets, I would be downloading your pattern right now. Toodles :-)
