Go-to list of words used by hurricane reporters and commentators:
Bearing down

Ok, I'm not trying to be funny but the list of weird hurricane words is another thing I collect, besides goofy hair salon names and things you used to believe were true when you were a kid.

okay, you might not be trying to be funny but you are. Thats a totally cool hobby. My friends and I used to make a list of all the words our teacher made up as he spoke so eloquently to our class about art. Given this was an art school and i suppose everyone kinda felt they had free verse on their vocabulary but he was sort of cocky so it was rather funny when we picked up on these faux words. I suppose it was rather ingenious. Like these reporters they're writers must use the thesaurus as their bible. But actually I kinda do too.
P.S. i just got into knitting hard core im proud of my scarf. Some day I think I'll make a hat. : )

Glad to know I'm not all alone in thinking this is odd. :)

Was flipping through and caught Anderson Cooper on CNN last night. He was airing an SNL skit that was making fun of him and Geraldo. Whoever the guy was looked amazingly like Cooper, but the Geraldo guy was a lot funnier. Of course, making fun of Geraldo is generally a lot funnier anyway, I suppose.

By the way, here's a hair salon name for you: Last Resort Hair Salon. Why on earth would anyone go there?
