Hm, a busted tag I'm too lazy to fix.

Anyway, the story on the VF album is that the masters to those tunes burned up in a fire, so they rerecorded all of them. And that is the album I have now. And it's fantastic. :)

Also I am listening to Sweetheart of the Rodeo (The Byrds) and I really love that outtake "The Christian Life" -- the one sung by Gram Parsons -- though I think he was probably joking when he sang it. I do like the old Louvin Brothers songs.

So, I love the iTunes Music Store.

I just bought Violent Femmes Deluxe Edition -- ok, I had this album or one with all these songs on it (it was a copy) when I was in high school, and I literally wore it out.

I am reliving the 80s tonight. Dug through old albums and am adding the following to iTunes:

The Cure - Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me
R.E.M. - Eponymous
Fetchin' Bones - Galaxy 500
R.E.M. - Document
The Cure - Staring at the Sea
Ultimate New Wave Dance Party (laugh all you want, but it contains The Romantics, Billy Idol, Rock Lobster, Madness !! and the Fine Young Cannibals)

Also adding:
The Violent Femmes - Why Do Birds Sing
R.E.M. - Automatic for the People
They Might Be Giants - Flood (everyone should own this album)
10,000 Maniacs - Our Time in Eden
Social Distortion - Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell (yeah!!)
Bob Marley and the Wailers - Legend
James Brown - 20 Greatest Hits
The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds
Sheryl Crow - The Globe Sessions
The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill
Elvis Costello - Mighty Like a Rose
Beck - Odelay

Hm.
